Cometic makes MLS - Multilayer top gasket - These are gaskets that work really well hold holder for incredibly high load. They are made in relatively thick sizes so that you have the opportunity to lower the compression a lot. This is often used in old cars where it is not possible to adjust the ignition. But on many new cars, this is a necessity and for this, it is not recommended to lower the compression too much.
