Intake flanges
Intake flanges are used for building, adapting, and mounting intake components on engines where a correct and stable transition between parts is required. They are relevant in tuning projects, motorsport, engine swaps, and other custom-built solutions where the intake system needs to be adapted to the engine, manifold, throttle body, or pipework.
An intake flange is often an important part when building custom solutions because it forms the basis for a precise connection between different parts of the intake system. This can for example be when mounting a throttle body, building a custom manifold, changing to a different intake setup, or in other projects where the standard parts do not fit directly together. That is why intake flanges are often made from aluminium or steel, depending on the application and the desired setup.
Correct fitment is important because a flange needs to seal properly and provide a good foundation for a durable installation. If the connection does not fit correctly, it can cause problems with leaks, poor airflow management, or unnecessary modifications later in the project. That is why dimensions, bolt pattern, port shape, and material choice are important factors when choosing intake flanges for a setup.
