FIA balaclavas
FIA balaclavas are an important part of personal safety equipment for motorsport, racing and rally. They are worn under the helmet and are designed to provide extra fire protection around the head, neck and face in case of fire or high heat.
An FIA-approved balaclava works as an extra protective layer between the skin and the helmet. It also helps improve comfort, as it can absorb sweat and reduce direct contact between the skin and the helmet lining during longer periods of driving.
Motorsport balaclavas are typically made from fire-resistant materials designed for use together with a racing suit, FIA underwear, gloves, shoes and other safety equipment. They are available in different fits and designs, including versions with one or two eye openings, depending on the driver’s preference and the requirements in the regulations.
For competition use, you should always check the applicable requirements for the class and race series, as an FIA-approved balaclava is often required together with other FIA-approved equipment.
Whether you drive racing, rally, trackday or other motorsport, an FIA balaclava is an important layer under the helmet and an obvious choice when safety, comfort and correct equipment need to go hand in hand.
