Tow straps
Tow straps are used as a lightweight and practical towing point on race cars, trackday cars, drift cars and other motorsport vehicles. A tow strap makes it easier to tow the car quickly away from the track, pit area or workshop if the car cannot continue driving on its own.
In motorsport, tow straps are often used as an alternative to a classic tow eye or fixed tow hook. The advantage is that a tow strap is typically lighter, more flexible and less likely to protrude from the car. This makes it suitable for cars where you want a functional towing point without a large visible metal bracket.
A tow strap can be mounted at the front or rear of the car depending on the car’s build and requirements. During installation, it is important that the strap is attached to a strong point on the body, chassis or bumper reinforcement, so it can be used safely for towing.
Tow straps are often chosen by both track drivers and tuners who want a motorsport-inspired solution with low weight and simple function. Whether you call it a tow strap, tow eye or tow hook, the purpose is the same: to give the car a clear and usable towing point.
