Fuel pump connectors
Fuel pump connectors are used to connect the fuel pump to the vehicle’s wiring loom and are an important part of a stable and reliable power supply to the fuel system. A correctly installed fuel pump connector helps reduce the risk of poor contact, voltage drop, and overheating, which is important in standard road cars, tuned cars, and motorsport projects where the fuel pump operates under load.
Fuel pump connectors are available in several types depending on the pump and the installation. 2-pin connectors are very common on both OEM and aftermarket fuel pumps, while 3-pin solutions are used on some more advanced pumps with additional functions, such as signal or sensor. Universal connectors are also available and can be used for different types of pumps and wiring looms when building or adapting a setup.
In the engine bay and around the fuel system, it is important to use connectors that can withstand demanding conditions. For that reason, fuel pump connectors are often made with a robust housing in plastic or metal, good sealing against water and dust, and a design that can resist vibration. Depending on the model, they are typically available with 2 or 3 pins, and many solutions are made so the pins can be serviced or replaced when needed. This makes them suitable for repair, upgrades, and new wiring loom builds.
