FIA socks
FIA socks are part of the fire-resistant safety equipment used in motorsport under driving shoes. They are designed to provide extra protection for the feet and ankles in case of fire or high heat, while also being comfortable during longer periods of driving.
Unlike regular socks, FIA socks are made from materials designed for motorsport and high safety requirements. They are typically used together with FIA underwear, balaclava, gloves, driving shoes, helmet and racing suit as part of the complete safety package.
A good fit is important, as the socks need to sit close without causing discomfort inside the driving shoes. Breathable materials, flexibility and flat seams can make a big difference to comfort, especially during longer stints on track, rally or race.
FIA socks are used in race cars, rally cars, track cars and other motorsport disciplines where personal safety equipment is necessary or required by the regulations. For competition use, you should always check the applicable requirements for the class and race series.
Whether you drive racing, rally, trackday or other motorsport, FIA socks are an important layer under the driving shoes and an obvious choice when safety, comfort and correct equipment need to go hand in hand.
