Oil pressure gauges are used to monitor the oil pressure in the engine’s lubrication system and are an important part of many performance cars, motorsport cars and custom builds where better control of engine operation and lubrication is wanted. When the oil pressure can be read correctly, it becomes easier to react if the pressure drops or behaves abnormally under load.
In many setups, oil pressure gauges are used as an important safety measure and as a supplement to other gauges such as oil temperature and water temperature. This makes them relevant for normal monitoring, troubleshooting and more demanding use where the engine works harder than standard.
