Throttle (TPS) connectors

Throttle connectors are used to connect the throttle, throttle body, or throttle position sensor in the vehicle’s wiring loom and are an important part of standard repairs, tuning projects, and motorsport. A good throttle connector is important when you want to ensure a stable electrical connection for signals that affect engine management, throttle position, and the vehicle’s overall response.

Throttle connectors are relevant both when replacing worn or defective connectors and when building a new wiring loom for engine swaps, programmable engine management, or custom-built projects. In the engine bay, connectors are exposed to heat, vibration, moisture, and load, which is why correct fitment, secure locking, and quality materials are important features when the installation needs to be reliable.

In many applications, the signal from the throttle position sensor typically operates in a range where closed throttle is around 0.3–0.8 V and full throttle is around 4.2–4.8 V. Because of this, it is important to use a connector that provides a stable and precise connection without signal dropouts. Throttle connectors are often available in versions with 3, 4, or 6 pins and are usually made from plastic and metal with sealing rubber, allowing them to be used in demanding environments. They are typically designed to withstand temperatures from -55 °C to +125 °C, often have water- and dust-resistance at IP67 to IP68 level, and are developed to resist vibration in the engine bay.
