Coil conversions
Coil conversion is used when the ignition system is converted to a different and often more modern ignition coil solution. It is especially relevant in projects where the original ignition no longer suits the engine setup, or where a stronger and more stable solution is desired for tuning, higher load, and more precise ignition control. A coil conversion is typically chosen to upgrade from older ignition systems to newer ignition coils, which can provide better stability and easier integration with programmable engine management.
Coil conversions are relevant for troubleshooting, upgrades, and new engine builds where the ignition system needs to keep up with the rest of the setup. In some projects, the goal is to remove older ignition modules and simplify the installation, while in others it is about getting a solution that is better suited to higher loads, newer ignition coils, and more performance-oriented use. At the same time, coil conversion is often closely linked to the choice of ignition coils, connectors, and engine management, because the entire system must work correctly together in practice.
