MaxxECU PDM20

MaxxECU PDM20 is an advanced power distribution module for projects where you want to replace traditional fuses and relays with a more modern, flexible, and intelligent solution. Instead of a classic electrical panel with many separate components, PDM20 gives you electronic control of the car’s power consumption, so you get better control over loads, easier troubleshooting, and a more organised installation in both road cars, track day cars, and motorsport builds. MaxxECU itself describes PDM20 as a Power Distribution Module developed for its own systems, and it is particularly relevant in projects where wiring, power management, and reliability need to be at a higher level than with ordinary relay boxes.

One of the major advantages of MaxxECU PDM20 is that it not only distributes power, but also provides active control and monitoring of the individual circuits. The module has a maximum total capacity of 230A and 20 outputs divided into 8 x 25A, 8 x 15A, and 4 x 8A. All outputs can be PWM controlled, which makes it possible to use PDM20 for far more than simple on/off functions. It can, for example, be relevant for fans, pumps, lights, heaters, valves, and other electrical consumers where you want more precise control. At the same time, PDM20 has 7 digital or analogue 0-24V inputs, separate 5V supply and sensor ground, as well as adjustable overcurrent protection with automatic restart and the possibility of soft start.

PDM20 is designed to work together with MaxxECU via CAN bus and is configured in MTune, so setup of inputs, outputs, and functions takes place in the same software environment as the rest of the system. MaxxECU’s own documentation underlines that the PDM is integrated with the ECU platform to make setup of outputs, PWM functions, keypads, and value sharing easier, and that it is in practice built for use together with a MaxxECU. This makes PDM20 a strong choice for those who want one complete solution where engine management and power management work closely together, rather than building several separate systems around the car.

MaxxECU PDM20 is therefore well suited to custom builds and motorsport projects where you want better control of power distribution, fewer traditional relays, and better possibilities to monitor load and faults on the individual outputs. It also supports CAN keypads and fault/warning codes, which makes it even more interesting in cars where you want to build a clean and professional electrical solution focused on function, serviceability, and flexibility.
