Why We Do Not Offer PayPal
We have chosen not to offer PayPal as a payment method. This decision is based on concrete experience where the payment system did not provide a reasonable balance between buyer and seller.
In a specific case, we shipped a stock item – an exhaust system – to a customer in Germany. The shipment had arrived in Germany and was scheduled for delivery within 1–2 days. The customer then chose to cancel the purchase via PayPal.
PayPal reversed the payment even though the item had already been shipped and was close to delivery.
The financial consequences for us were:
PayPal transaction fee: 16 EUR
Shipping to Germany: 53 EUR
Return shipping: 53 EUR
Dispute fee: 40 EUR
Total direct costs: 162 EUR
This excludes handling, administration, and time spent on the case.
As a company, we cannot operate sustainably under conditions where payment can be unilaterally reversed after goods have been dispatched.
Therefore, we have chosen payment solutions with clearer and more balanced terms for both parties. This ensures a fairer transaction and allows us to maintain competitive pricing.
