Thermostat control
Thermostat control is used in cooling systems where more precise control over temperature, fan activation and in some cases control of electric water pumps or other cooling components is wanted. It is a relevant solution for modified road cars, motorsport cars and custom projects where the standard control setup does not always suit the build or the requirements of the vehicle.
A thermostat control unit makes it possible to control when a fan or another component should be activated based on the actual temperature in the system. This can be important in projects using electric cooling fans, special radiators or modified cooling systems, where more accurate temperature control is wanted than with a traditional mechanical solution. It can also be an advantage in engine swaps and conversions where the original control system is no longer used or does not match the new components.
A good thermostat control setup can help reduce unnecessary fan use, improve temperature stability and provide a more thought-out overall solution in the cooling system. This is especially relevant in vehicles with high heat output, limited space in the engine bay or components that require individual control rather than a standard setup.
