Pressure sensors

Pressure sensors are used to measure pressure in engine, oil, fuel, and boost pressure systems, where accurate data is crucial for both reliability and performance. The signal from a pressure sensor can be used for monitoring in a gauge or display, but also directly in the engine management system, where the ECU can react to changes in, for example, oil or fuel pressure. This makes pressure sensors relevant for road cars, tuning, motorsport, and custom builds, where correct pressure monitoring is an important part of a well-functioning setup.

The range of pressure sensors includes everything from classic sensors for oil and fuel pressure to more advanced combined sensors with both pressure and temperature. Choosing the right pressure sensor depends, among other things, on which medium is being measured, which pressure range the sensor must handle, and how the signal will be used in the car. In some projects, it is about replacing a defective sensor or getting a stable signal for a pressure gauge, while in others it is about building a more advanced setup where the ECU actively monitors and protects the engine. That is why pressure sensors are an important part of troubleshooting, upgrades, and new builds when pressure data needs to be used accurately and reliably in practice.
