FIA underwear
FIA-approved underwear is an important part of motorsport safety equipment, where fire protection and comfort are highly important. It is worn under a racing suit and helps provide an extra protective layer between the body and the suit in case of fire or high heat.
Motorsport underwear is typically made from fire-resistant materials designed to withstand heat better than regular clothing. This can include shirts, trousers, balaclavas, socks and other base-layer equipment, which together can improve the driver’s protection in the car.
FIA-approved underwear is especially used in race cars, rally cars, track cars and other motorsport disciplines where personal safety equipment is required. Depending on class and regulations, FIA-approved underwear may be required together with a racing suit, gloves, shoes, helmet and HANS system.
Besides safety, the underwear also needs to be comfortable to wear during longer periods of driving. A good fit, breathable materials and flat seams can make a big difference to comfort, especially when worn under a racing suit in warm conditions or during longer stints on track.
Whether you drive racing, rally, trackday or other motorsport, FIA-approved underwear is an important part of the complete safety package and an obvious choice when the equipment needs to meet the requirements on track.
