Flex Fuel fittings
Flex Fuel fittings are used for correct installation of a Flex Fuel sensor in the car’s fuel system, so you get a tight, safe and reliable connection. The sensor measures the ethanol content in the fuel, allowing the engine management system to adjust mixture, ignition and other parameters depending on whether the car is running on petrol, E-blends or E85.
Many of these fittings and quick connect solutions typically belong to the SAE J2044 family, which is the standard for quick connect couplings used for fuel supply, return and vapor/emission connections, among other things. This also means that the parts are not only relevant for Flex Fuel sensors. Depending on the connector type, they are also used elsewhere on cars, including fuel feed and return, tank venting and EVAP, ventilation lines and, in some product ranges, also oil- and cooling-related lines. This makes Flex Fuel fittings interesting not only as sensor fittings, but also as part of a more OEM-like and service-friendly setup.
