Both solutions can be relevant, depending on whether the focus is simple monitoring, data collection or a more advanced motorsport setup.

When choosing dashes and gauges, it is important to consider more than just appearance. Sensors, signal type, measuring range, power supply, mounting and compatibility with the rest of the car’s systems all have a major impact on whether the solution suits the project. It is also important to choose instruments based on which values are actually relevant to monitor on the specific car.
