Installation & Adjustment
Important: The pressure plate is optimized for discs that are 9.2 mm thick.
Using a thicker disc (> 9.2 mm)
If the disc is thicker than 9.2 mm, the pressure plate must be shimmed out corresponding to the additional thickness.
Using a thinner disc (< 9.2 mm)
For example, with an 8 mm sintered disc, 1.2 mm is missing for optimal preload.
Solution: Remove material (1.2 mm) from the flywheel’s surface under the pressure plate so the plate will sit closer to the disc.

Recommendation
Use the correct disc thickness for optimal friction and clutch engagement.
When upgrading to a sintered disc, account for either:
adjustment of the flywheel, or
use of shims when using a thicker disc.
Incorrect spacing can result in poor clutch performance or slipping.
