ACL Race Series conrod bearings for VAG 1.4L TSI, 2.0L TFSI CCTA and 2.5L TFSI TT RS engines with standard crankshaft. ACL Race Series is developed for high-load engines and is often used for tuning, motorsport and performance rebuilds where the bearings are exposed to higher demands than in normal road use.
The bearings are built as trimetal bearings with steel backing, copper/lead alloy and a high-strength overlay coating, providing high load capacity, good wear resistance and improved fatigue resistance at high RPM and high cylinder pressure. ACL Race Series is developed to handle the loads often found in modified turbo and motorsport engines.
ACL uses increased “crush” for better bearing retention in the connecting rod, as well as increased eccentricity, which helps maintain a stable oil film at high RPM and compensates for deformation in the engine block and connecting rods under load. In addition, the bearings are manufactured with very precise tolerances, giving consistent bearing clearances and easier engine assembly.
