Oil cooler thermostat housing – billet aluminium inline oil thermostat
This billet CNC-machined thermostat housing is designed for inline installation between the oil cooler hoses and ensures optimal oil temperature under all operating conditions. The thermostat controls oil flow so that oil is only directed efficiently through the oil cooler once it has reached the correct operating temperature. Until then, the majority of the oil is routed through an internal bypass, reducing flow resistance and protecting the system from cold oil shock.
Although the thermostat regulates flow, the oil cooler is never completely closed off. Approximately 90% of the oil is routed through the bypass channel when the oil is cold, preventing air pockets in the system and ensuring stable oil pressure. As oil temperature rises, the thermostat automatically adjusts flow – just like a conventional coolant thermostat – keeping the engine within a stable and optimal temperature range.
The housing is manufactured from billet 6061 aluminium and black anodised for high corrosion resistance and a professional motorsport appearance. It features clearly marked AN ports for easy and correct plumbing, as well as a threaded port for installing an oil pressure or temperature sensor.
Suitable for both street and track use and an ideal choice when building or upgrading an oil cooling system.
