BMW E36 trunk firewall is a fire separation panel used to separate the trunk from the cabin. It is especially relevant for race cars, trackday cars, drift cars and modified cars where a fuel cell, fuel tank, battery, fuel pumps or other technical components are installed in the trunk.

The purpose of a trunk firewall is to create a safer separation between the driver and the trunk. In the event of a leak, fire or technical fault, the fire separation panel helps limit the passage of flames, heat, smoke and fuel vapours into the cabin. This makes it an important part of the safety setup in a BMW E36 used for motorsport or hard driving.

This version is made from 1 millimetre aluminium, giving a good balance between low weight and the necessary strength. With a weight of only approx. 1.3 kg, it is suitable for performance and motorsport builds where weight reduction is a priority. At the same time, it is designed to fit both BMW E36 coupe and sedan.

The fire separation panel is mounted between the rear seat area and the trunk, creating a more closed and controlled separation of the cabin. It is suitable for cars where the rear seats have been removed and where a more correct motorsport-style build is desired.

Note: Installation must be carried out properly so the panel seals tightly against the bodywork. For motorsport use, the installation should always be checked against the applicable regulations for the class or series in which the car will be used.
