BMW E36/E46/Z4 uniball trailing arm bushings are used as a replacement for the original bushings in the rear trailing arms. They are developed for cars where a more precise and direct rear suspension setup is desired for drift, trackday, motorsport and performance builds.
The bushings are made from steel, providing a very firm connection in the rear suspension and reducing unwanted movement compared to original rubber bushings. The result is more precise control of the rear suspension, better control under load and a more direct suspension response.
This type of bushing is especially relevant for cars with stiffer suspension, coilovers, modified wheel geometry or motorsport setups, where precision is prioritised over comfort. As uniball bushings do not dampen like original rubber bushings, they may increase noise, vibration and harshness in the car.
Threadlocker must be used when tightening the bushing during installation.
