Fuel cell foam

Fuel cell foam is fuel-resistant tank foam used inside a fuel cell or motorsport fuel tank. The foam helps reduce fuel sloshing during hard acceleration, braking and cornering, where the car is exposed to heavy movement and load.

In motorsport, trackday, rally, drifting and custom-built cars, fuel cell foam can be an important part of a safe and stable fuel setup. The foam divides the fuel into smaller moving areas inside the tank, which can create calmer fluid movement and help provide a more stable fuel supply.

Fuel cell foam is typically used with motorsport fuel cells, aluminium tanks and custom fuel systems, where higher demands are placed on safety, function and control than in a standard original fuel tank.

It is important to use the correct fuel-resistant foam that matches the type of fuel the car runs on. Ordinary foam must not be used in a fuel tank, as it can dissolve, contaminate the fuel system and cause problems with filters, pumps and injectors.
