This custom piston set from JE Pistons is specifically designed for Volvo 1.7L 8V B18FT turbo engines where high demands are placed on strength, durability, and thermal stability. With an original compression ratio of 8.5:1 and precise adaptation for turbo applications, this set is suitable for both performance builds and serious engine rebuilds.

The pistons are manufactured from high-quality forged aluminum and feature a thermal barrier coating on the crown (CC), which reduces heat transfer to the piston and helps lower piston temperatures under load. This results in increased reliability under high boost pressure and demanding operating conditions.

The notched skirt design ensures proper valve clearance, while the optimized crown design of -46.8 cc supports stable combustion and the correct compression ratio. The integrated IN VR’s (Internal Vertical Reliefs) are designed to improve oil control and lubrication along the piston skirt. This reduces friction between the piston and cylinder wall, minimizes heat buildup, and contributes to stable operation at high engine speeds and loads.
