Mercedes AMG V8
Here is a Mercedes where we custom-built an exhaust system with 2 x 3" exhaust pipes, 2 pcs. 3" Magnaflow 200-cell race catalytic converters and Simons middle silencers. The result was a sports exhaust with a distinct, raw and very powerful sound. The exhaust system itself gave an extra 25 hp.
When we subsequently measured the exhaust gases with an AFR meter, we could see that the car was getting far too much fuel. Therefore, we carried out proper chip tuning, where the engine management was correctly adjusted. This gave a further 30 hp extra.
In total, the car therefore ended up with 55 hp more than when it arrived.
The car was equipped with a supercharger kit from Kleemann. However, the power output and quality of the previous adjustment could be questioned, as the car only had 332 hp when it arrived, even though it should have been around 480 hp.
After our work, the car was measured at 387 hp, which fits well considering that it runs with 0.35 bar boost pressure and has 305 hp as standard.
