This Malpassi progressive fuel pressure regulator increases the fuel pressure by twice the boost pressure. If you run 0.4 bar of boost pressure, it increases the fuel pressure by 0.8 bar. It is also very good for smaller projects at low boost pressure, where the original knock sensor can pull ignition timing itself, so the extra fuel needed is delivered "automatically". The regulator is also preferred in situations where the original mass air flow meter maxes out and therefore cannot provide a higher signal. In those cases, the progressive fuel pressure regulator will still deliver more fuel as the boost pressure continues to rise.
Another advantage is that this Malpassi regulator can be mounted directly on the fuel rail. This provides a compact and simple installation that is easy to integrate into the engine bay. The direct mounting makes it ideal for cars where space is limited, or where a cleaner and more organised fuel system layout is desired.
