Radium FPD-R fuel pulse damper with mounting kit is designed for EFI fuel systems where pressure pulses from the fuel injectors can create unstable fuel pressure. The internal diaphragm absorbs pressure fluctuations in the fuel rail, providing more stable and consistent fuel pressure throughout the RPM range. This can improve idle quality, throttle response, and reduce unwanted air/fuel ratio fluctuations, especially on engines with high-flow fuel injectors.
This is the FPD-R model with direct 8AN ORB mounting. It is designed for EFI fuel systems with a static fuel pressure of 40-70 PSI and is particularly suitable for most OEM and modified gasoline engines using a 1:1 rising rate fuel pressure regulator. The integrated vacuum/boost reference ensures correct operation, even under high dynamic fuel pressures during boost.
The FPD-R features a compact design, making it ideal where installation space is limited. The 8AN ORB version can also be rotated 360 degrees after installation, allowing optimal orientation of the vacuum port. The damper can be mounted in any position, including upside down, and is compatible with gasoline, E85, and other alcohol-based fuels.
The direct mount kit includes an anodized aluminium housing, stainless steel mounting hardware, a 4 millimeter vacuum hose, and a Y-piece for easy installation on compatible fuel rails with an 8AN ORB port.
Note:
Fuel pulse dampers must not be used with mechanical fuel pumps or direct injection systems (GDI, FSI, TFSI, etc.). Mechanical fuel pumps and direct injection high-pressure pumps generate extremely intense pressure pulses that exceed the design limits of the internal diaphragm. These pressure spikes will quickly damage or rupture the diaphragm, potentially causing failure and fuel leakage. This product is intended exclusively for EFI fuel systems using an electric low-pressure fuel pump.
