Simons 014DH5R is a stainless catback sports exhaust developed for Mazda MX-5/Miata NB 1.6 and 1.8 from 1998-2005. The system is mounted after the catalytic converter and backwards as a complete model-specific system with focus on better flow, sporty sound and a more distinctive sports car look than the original exhaust.
The MX-5 NB is a light and direct roadster, where the exhaust sound has great importance for the car's character. The Simons system gives the car a deeper and more lively sound during normal driving, while the sound under acceleration becomes more open and sporty. The duplex solution with two large tailpipes also gives the car a more aggressive and symmetrical rear appearance.
The stainless system has a 63.5 millimetre pipe diameter, which gives better flow and lower back pressure than many original systems. This can give the engine a freer character and a more direct feel when accelerating. The system is made from stainless steel for better durability and resistance to rust and daily use all year round.
Please note that the spoiler/rear bumper must be modified on the left side of the car to make room for the left tailpipe.
