VW 3.2L R32 / 3.6L R36 / VR6 2.8L & 2.9L HD Series ZRP connecting rods are designed for VW VR6 engines where extreme demands are placed on strength, durability, and precision. This Heavy Duty I-Beam series is aimed at high horsepower and high-boost engine builds where standard components are no longer sufficient.

The connecting rods are manufactured from 4340 high tensile steel with an optimised I-Beam geometry that provides maximum rigidity and resistance to deformation under extreme loads. A combination of advanced forging processes, precise CNC machining, and extensive quality control results in a product built for serious motorsport and demanding performance applications.

The bushings are made from AMPCO 18 material, known for excellent wear and fatigue resistance. They feature a radial oil groove that acts as an oil reservoir, ensuring optimal lubrication at high engine speeds. Each rod is shot peened to relieve internal stress and undergoes multi-stage heat treatment for maximum strength, dimensional stability, and service life.

Production is carried out to extremely tight tolerances, ensuring perfect fitment, correct oil clearances, and minimal variation in both bend and twist. Each connecting rod is supplied complete with 3/8” ARP 2000 bolts rated at 220,000 psi. ARP L19 bolts rated at 260,000 psi are available as an upgrade. The kit is supplied with ARP moly lubricant and full installation instructions.
