    Toyota 2JZ / 2JZ-GTE tuning guide

    Guide for tuning your Toyota 2JZ engine. We guide you through the things you need to be aware of and what parts to use. If any things are missing, you are welcome to write to us - Then we will make this happen.

    In 1986 came the first Supra model and in 1992 came the first version of the Supra MK4 - and ever since then the car and engine have been used for high-performance racing and tuning. It has been used a lot as the standard turbocharged 2JZ-GTE engine without changes could make an incredible amount of power.

    In Japan, the 2JZ-GTE engine can be found in the Toyota Aristo made from 1991 to 2002. The 2JZ-GTE engine was updated in 1997, with variable intake cam - VVT-I

    Toyota's 2JZ-GE suction motor is based on the same engine block and almost identical, but with higher compression. Toyota's 1JZ-GTE is a 2.5L version of the well-known cast iron block which was later made with variable intake cam and single turbo.

    The 2JZ engine is built as Nissan's RB series - 6 cylinders in line with good balance, 7 main bearings, which allow for high revs.


    A doubling of power - Up to 700 hp.

    700 hp. is possible on a standard motor without disassembling it. It is required that the engine is in proper condition, ie. it should preferably be renovated with new bearings, engine oil, piston rings, etc. A larger turbocharger and exhaust manifold should be used.

    With a larger turbocharger, you should expect to have full charge pressure at approx. 3900 RPM. If you want charging pressure before, you must have a turbocharger with ticket wheel and ceramic bearings, here you can get down to approx. 3600 RPM.

    Intake - High-performance intake

    The original intake manifold can be used for many hp. and seems sensible. However, we have a Performance intake manifold which gives extra power and looks much more healing - Very much when you start tuning the engine. It is made for Bosch / Siemens nozzles with 13.5 mm. O-rings. We can recommend eg 668cc or 875cc. nozzles that can carry up to 600 & amp; 800 hp. - Large højohms nozzles can give a more unstable idle, if you run a slightly fatter mixture at idle, it does not give any problem.

    2JZ performance intake - Really nice intake manifold that has a super good flow.

    668cc. nozzles - Nozzles that carry up to approx. 550-600 hp. - Depending on the mixing ratio

    875cc. nozzles - Nozzles that carry up to approx. 750-800 hp. Everything depends on the mixing ratio

    EV1 connector - Connector for mounting the above nozzles, the connectors are replaced very easily if you have a pair of pliers that can squeeze the pins.

     

    Cooling - Large intercooler and aluminum cooler

    Cooling of the radiator system and charge air are both very important factors when the car is increased in power by eg 100% - We have, for example, an aluminum radiator with a thick element and good cooling. The intercooler system also needs to be heavily upgraded, here we would recommend min. and 600 * 300 * 76mm. to 600hp. The element that is 100mm. thick to 800hp. - You can find it on the link below.

    Intercooler - Universal intercooler if you want to install intercooler and make piping yourself

    Aluminum pipes for pipe system - Aluminum pipes are lighter than stainless steel pipes and can thus be an advantage to use due to the weight

    Exhaust - Upgrade exhaust

    When you need to tune your 2JZ engine up, more air needs to be in the engine and therefore of course more out. It is recommended to mount a 3.5 "system to get optimal power out of the engine. We build many exhaust systems for Mercedes AMG, Porsche and other great brands - therefore we can also offer a specially made exhaust system for your car!
